Something very special has been created in
the forests of South Scotland over the last few years. The 7stanes
mountain bike routes, acknowledged as the amongst the best in the world, offer over 160 km of fantastic
red and black graded forest
biking, much of it along purpose built singletrack.
Thistle Lodges are perfectly placed for a 7stanes holiday - adjacent to Dalbeattie , and only a short drive from Mabie, Ae, Glentrool and Kirroughtree. For more gentle cycling adventure, several 7stanes sites, including the nearest at Dalbeattie and Mabie, also have blue and green graded routes ideal for families and those new to mountain biking.. Bainloch lodge has undercover lockable storage for 2/3 bikes, Bainloch and Laggan Hill lodges have external mount points to which bikes can be locked, and Braemar lodge has a lockable basement under the lodge for up to eight bikes. Otherwise you may hire family bikes on site. |
